摘要
We present the GENRT music generation system specifically designed for making soundtracks to fit given media such as video clips. This is based on Neo-Riemannian Theory (NRT), an analytical approach to describing chromatic chord progressions. We describe the implementation of GENRT in terms of a generative NRT formalism, which produces suitable chord sequences to fit the timing and atmosphere requirements of the media. We provide an illustrative example using GENRT to produce a soundtrack for a clip from the film A Beautiful Mind.
