摘要
Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are a type of permanent magnet synchronous motor with a very high level of efficiency used in wind turbines and other high-speed motor applications. An attempt has been made to design and implement four-quadrant control of a BLDC motor drive by coated conductor winding was tested experimentally. Coating the motor winding made of copper with highly conductive materials such as graphite and silver over the wire using the dip-coating technique was performed. The measurements of resistance, inductance, RPM, and power loss are presented and explained. SEM Image was taken which shows the distribution of graphite particles over a copper surface. Graphite is a low-cost substitute for silver which shows considerable improvement in overall motor efficiency of 2-5% in BLDC motors.
