摘要：

This theoretical essay, of a reflective and interpretive nature, uses a qualitative approach, with the objective of reflecting on intersections and contributions of career studies to the discussion of Brazilian public administration, intertwining discussions about career, competences and dimensioning. We understand that the intersection between the concepts allows investigations and advances in this theme, given the complementarity of views from career theories. This is because such a conceptual interface manages to reveal an aspect without borders, or of continuous learning, or of dual-career, considering the expanded context of life, through the organizational perspective or perceiving changes throughout life. These different aspects, combined with the heterogeneity of careers, positions, people, origins, motivations for (re)entry of public servants, demonstrate a rich environment that offers different prisms, with possibilities and need for different approaches.
