摘要
The article examines the key elements of Polish-Ukrainian cultural relations within the musical sphere, focusing on the period from 2013 to 2021, marked by significant events such as the Revolution of Dignity, the Russo-Ukrainian war, and the COVID-19 pandemic, all of which have had distinct impacts on the dynamics of Polish-Ukrainian relations. A comparison is drawn between the development of Polish alternative music in Ukraine and Ukrainian alternative music in Poland, shedding light on their reciprocal influence on cultural ties. The article delineates three stages in the evolution of Polish-Ukrainian cultural relations: Late 2013-2015: This period encompasses the Revolution of Dignity and the initial two years of the Russo-Ukrainian war, representing an active phase when Ukraine became a focal point in political news, drawing considerable attention to events within the country. Late 2015-Autumn 2019: This stage reflects a period of stable growth in Polish-Ukrainian musical relations, characterized by joint concerts and recordings, as well as a reevaluation of cultural heritage. Late 2019-2021: This period coincides with the COVID-19 pandemic, during which many events shifted to an online format, and numerous cultural activities were canceled. This phase represents a critical period where the stability of Polish-Ukrainian musical relations faced disruptions from its previously steady growth. The article also explores the pre-Revolution of Dignity foundations of Polish-Ukrainian relations and their influence on the initial phase. By comparing musical events between the two countries from 2013 to 2021, the article emphasizes the pivotal role of the Revolution of Dignity and the Russo-Ukrainian war in the rapid development of cultural ties. It acknowledges the potential threat posed by COVID-19 to the further development of musical relations between Ukraine and Poland, though the ultimate consequences in this regard remain uncertain.
