Gender inequality in the Chile-Peru border labor market among Venezuelan immigrant women

摘要
The objective of this study was to explore the perceptions of Venezuelan migrant women in relation to gender inequality in the Chile-Peru border labor market, 2022. Mixed, descriptive, and Desigualdad de genero en el mercado laboral fronterizo Chile-Peru entre mujeres venezolanas inmigrantes analytical research. The study was conducted in the cities of Arica-Chile and Tacna-Peru during the months of October-December 2022. The inclusion criteria corresponded to Venezuelan immigrant women, over 18 years of age, who had worked in the receiving country in the last 3 years. The sample size was 212 participants; the sampling method was by convenience and snowball. Several statistical analysis methods were used in the study: 1.-Descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis. The instruments used correspond to: Perception of gender inequality modified from the Memon and Jena (2017) and ILO (2008) scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale, in its short version (EBS-8). The results indicated, based on the "Perception of Gender Inequality" scale, that the group believes they are disadvantaged ("Ingroup Disadvantage Dimension"), perceive privilege in the outgroup ("Outgroup Privilege" Dimension), have past experiences of inequality ("Past Experience of Gender Inequality" Dimension) and face prejudice in the context ("Prejudice in Context Dimension"), in addition, the "Subjective Psychological Well-Being" scale expressed that the group has a moderate to high perception of their well-being.
