The EU Commission's proposal to codify visual disclaimers-a great leap for EU design law

In July 2014, as part of a wider review, the European Commission ('Commission') started with first steps in evaluating the status quo of the legislation on European design protection, followed by many further steps. The most recent proposals to modernize legislation on design protection point in the right direction. This is particularly true for the Commission's proposal to codify visual disclaimers in case of partial designs. However, there seems to be room for some improvement.
