摘要
This article shows the main results of the research entitled "learning geography in context. An approach to geographic competences in Primary Education", which aimed to analyze geographic competencies in elementary school students from Colegio Bethlemitas (Bello) and Centro Educativo Rural Corrientes (Barbosa), in order to contribute to a meaningful learning of school geography. At the methodological level, the research was based on the qualitative paradigm, from the action research approach with case methodology techniques. The research allowed, at first, to characterize the geographical competences of children; in a second moment, a strategy based on the recognition of the environment from the analysis of socio-environmental problems was built and applied, and in a third moment, a reflection was made on the results obtained. The work contributed to the field of geography didactics to the extent that didactic resources and reflections were built on the integration of geographic competences as a possibility to enhance meaningful learning in which the student can recognize their geographical environment, its socio-environmental problems and its contribution in solving these situations.
