Imaging of Overuse Injuries of the Hip

The hip is subject to overuse injuries from the many repetitive movements in daily life or athletic activities. A good understanding of the underlying anatomy of the hip and clinical presentation of the various overuse injuries of the hip can aid in diag-nosis. However, given the nonspecific nature of symptoms that may present, imaging often plays a crucial role in recognizing these entities and guiding appropriate clinical management. Knowl-edge of the associated imaging signs and the appropriate use of different imaging modalities and protocols is essential for accurate diagnosis of overuse injuries of the hip.
