摘要
Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) have attracted wide attention in the fields of environment, energy and biomedicine owing to their tunable chemical composition, large specific surface area and good biocompatibility. However, the agglomeration of LDHs caused by the intermolecular forces during their synthesis process may lead to their uneven dispersion in the matrix, thereby limiting their further practical application. In this review, the organic modification methods of LDHs in recent years are summarized from the perspectives of surface modification and intercalation modification. Their emerging applications in diverse fields, such as flame retardancy, adsorption, catalysis, gas barrier, luminescence, energy storage and biomedicine are also described. Finally, future research directions and application fields of modified LDHs are highlighted.
