摘要：

The latest studies on the wealth of cities go beyond the purely economic sphere and focus on understanding the distribution of inequality within the population and the historical evolution of the purchasing power of certain groups with the use of fiscal records. The purpose of this article is to analyse economic inequality among taxpayers of the city of Palma (known previously as ciutat de Mallorca) in the transition period between the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Age (1446-1533) through the fiscal sources of the talla levy. As an introduction, we will first present a historical evolution of ciutat de Mallorca in the wake of the Early Modern Age, followed by the methodology we have used to identify the social distribution of wealth, and conclude with an interpretation of the economic results obtained.
