Metal-organic framework MIL-101(Cr): An efficient catalyst for the synthesis of dihydro-pyrimidinones

摘要
In this work, a metal-organic framework, MIL-101(Cr), was synthesized using hydrothermal method. As synthesized MIL-101(Cr) was characterized using various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX), Raman spectroscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Telller (BET) surface area analysis. Dihydropyrimidinone derivatives were synthesized in the absence of solvent over the MIL-101(Cr) catalyst. These dihydro-pyrimidinone derivatives were characterized by FTIR, 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Less hazardous reactants, milder reaction conditions, and relatively simple catalysts to synthesize dihydro-pyrimidinones are the added advantages of our protocol. Optimal yield, swift reaction time, and the retention of a good catalytic activity up to five cycles are the special benefits of our protocol.
