Social movements, civil society and human rights

Prof. dr. Mate Szabo, Doctor of the Political Science (field of research: civil society, social movements and political protests) and former Parliamentary Commissioner for Fundamental Rights (2007-2013) celebrated his 65th birthday in 2021. The anniversary edition of "Social movements, civil society and human rights" (Budapest 2022, publisher: ELTE Eotvos Kiado) is to honour Professor Szabo's lifework so far by his colleagues, friends and students. We can find several essays in the book written by Professor Szabo as well. The monograps concentrate on three topics namely the political protest events of 1968, the development of social movements and civil society and the work of the ombudsman. The authors represent the highest niveau of the academic sector of social studies. The essays provide not only for an interesting analyses from a special aspect of the given topic but also mean a reliable source for scientific research.
