摘要
Background and aim: The number and distribution of implants vary considerably in full-arch reconstructions with implants, so it is necessary to summarize the study findings with a comprehensive study; therefore, the present study investigated the survival rate of full-arch implant-supported fixed prostheses.Material and Methods: Databases of PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, and Embase were searched for a systematic review of the literature between 2012 to March 2022. 95% confidence interval for Effect size (ES) with random effect model and restricted maximum-likelihood method were calculated. To deal with potential heterogeneity, random effects were used and I-2 showed heterogeneity. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata/MP v.16 software (The fastest version of Stata).Result: In the initial review, duplicate studies were eliminated, abstracts of 732 studies were reviewed, two authors reviewed the full text of 134 studies, and finally, 12 studies were selected. Survival rate of maxillary implants >= 5 was 96% (ES, 0.98 95% CI 0.40, 1.53) and Survival rate of Mandibular implants <5 was 98% (ES, 0.98 95% CI 0.61, 1.35).Conclusion: Based on the meta-analysis performed in the group, the number of implants more than five had a higher survival rate in both the maxilla and mandible. Four implants for maxilla and between 3 to 4 implants for mandible are the minimum suggested numbers.
