The impact of entrepreneurship education: A study of entrepreneurial outcomes

This study addresses the following two questions: First, does entrepreneurship education develop entrepreneurial outcomes, including entrepreneurial intention and behaviour, as well as entrepreneurial competencies such as knowledge and skills? Second, do entrepreneurial competencies influence entrepreneurial intention and then behaviour? A sample of 116 students from the introductory entrepreneurship module in Jordanian universities completed a self-rating questionnaire pre- and post-exposure to entrepreneurship education (EE). The results were based on partial least squares regression and a t-test. The results indicate that EE increased the students' knowledge and behaviour. However, their entrepreneurial skills and intentions showed no significant changes after completing the module. The relationship between entrepreneurial competencies and the students' entrepreneurial behaviour appeared to be significant.
