Predictability and periodicity of occupant lighting control in high-rise residential buildings

摘要
The occupant behavior (OB) is known to be a significant factor that causes the performance gap. Many studies have developed OB models to address this issue, including lighting control. So far, occupant lighting on/off control (OLC) has been expressed in terms of indoor illuminance level and/or time or day, but unfortunately the predictability and periodicity of OLC have not been investigated. To address this, we collected OLC data from 29 households in a living room and main bedroom in residential buildings over a one-year period. We analyzed the predictability of OLC using the Normalized Cumulative Periodogram (NCP) and Bartlett's test for different measurement periods (7, 14, 28, and 90 days). For OLC-predictable households, we investigated the periodicity of OLC. Our findings indicate that OLC is predictable in 27 households' living rooms and 24 households' main bedrooms for 28 days of measurement period. Furthermore, the periodicity of OLC varies depending on the household and rooms.
