A Reconfigurable Data Acquisition Architecture Based on Hybrid Interleaving in Electronic Instrument

摘要
Demands of the re-configurable sampling rate (SR), bandwidth (BW), and resolution (RES) of data acquisition systems (DAQ) are increasing remarkably in electronic instruments. However, the state-of-art DAQ architectures are working by sacrificing some index of the single ADC in exchange for the improvement of others, which are difficult to obtain the improvement of DAQs' SR, BW, and RES. This paper proposes a reconfigurable hybrid interleaved (RHI) DAQ architecture, which can simultaneously realize the enhancement and re-configuration of DAQ systems' SR, BW, and RES. Combined with frequency-interleaved (FI) and quantization-interleaved (QI) technology, the DAQ system can be reconstructed by adjusting the local oscillator's (LO) frequency and bias voltage in each sub-band. The simulation results validate that the proposed architecture has multi re-configurable modes (i.e., BW Enhancement Mode, 80 Gsps, 20 GHz, 12 bit, RES Enhancement Mode, 20 Gsps, 5 GHz, 14 bit and Compatibility Enhancement Mode, 40Gsps, 10 GHz, 13bit) with the single ADC (20 Gsps, 2.5GHz, 12 bit).
