Environmental Education and Road Ecology, a possible dialogue for Biology Teaching

摘要
The Ecology of Roads (ER) approaches the socio-environmental impacts caused by roads and solutions. Nonetheless, it is still not widely known within the scholar context, despite the fact that Environmental Education (EE) is one of the compensatory proposals foreseen in environmental permitting processes. Through a systematic literature revision and a participatory research with high school students from a public school, this article seeks to present potential intersections among ER and EE directed to Biology Teaching and its relations with socio-environmental debates. Results from this systematic revision show that there is still a demand of studies that take into account the ER to engage formal educational processes. Its relations with non-formal EE related to management do not contemplate a critical perspective, seen that it remains restricted to compensational purposes without associating with it a critical asset of the venture's impact and viability. The interdisciplinary experience indicates didactic possibilities of engaging with socio-environmental subjects, student-centering and with the potential to conceive interdisciplinary knowledge.
