An inherent goal in Phase 3 clinical trials is answering the question of whether a treatment is beneficial. In clinical care, we know that the answer depends on a balance of potential benefits vs acceptable risks for an individual patient. This is especially important when weighing the benefit and risk of minimally invasive surgery with thrombolysis for intracerebral hemorrhage evacuation (MISTIE) in the setting of spontaneous, nontraumatic, supratentorial, intracerebral hemorrhage.
