摘要
This paper provided a critical analysis of the factors influencing sand particle wear on standalone screens, with a particular emphasis on characterising sand particles and delineating their roles in the wear process. It was highlighted that the mass loss of a standalone screen before the peak wear rate is crucial, as it is closely linked to the screen's lifespan and is influenced by the characteristics of the sand particles. Angular sand particles were observed to induce more abrasive wear than rounded particles, attributed to their increased contact area and sharp edges, as the circularity factor (C.F.) decreases. Relative wear rate was observed to increase in time and speed, yet it declines as the C.F. increases. Non-spherical description of particles was noted to complicate modelling yet yield the most accurate representation. The paper advocated for a material-focused approach to wear investigations. Gaps were identified in existing wear models setting a clearer direction for future research.
