摘要
In Baroque Modernity, Joseph Cermatori upends received ideas about modernism's anti-theatricality by carefully identifying, and closely unpacking, the surprising strains of baroque theatricality running through works by Nietzsche, Mallarme, Benjamin, Stein, and others. The book also illuminates the necessity of modern philosophy to modern drama and theatre - and vice versa.
