Norms, Rules and Individual Guarantees: a discussion on ethical appreciation of research projects in Human and Social Sciences in Brazil

This paper analyzes, through a literature review, the submission process and ethical assessment of research projects in Human and Social Sciences (CHS) in Brazil, highlighting the history of the implementation of ethical assessment systems, the specificities of research in the field of CHS, the main problems and criticisms in opposition to the evaluation system. This work indicates that there have been advances in legislation concerning research on CHS that have improved working conditions and that have promoted greater acceptance of these mechanisms. However, there is still resistance in relation to the work of these committees on the part of the CHS community and difficulties of many researchers in handling the Plataforma Brasil to submit their research projects.
