Municipal governments and public management of power plants in Argentina during the early 20th century: the case of Posadas, territory of Misiones

The article analyzes the experience of municipal administration of the Posadas power plant, Misiones territory, during the first decades of the 20th century. Based on the municipal session books and other secondary sources, it is proposed that, through the resolution of the main challenges presented during the installation process and the first years of operation of the plant, the emergence of a sufficiently widespread consensus was possible. among the successive members of the municipal government regarding the potential and relevance of maintaining the service under this form of administration. This idea seems to have influenced the resistance to concession the plant to private companies during the thirties. Subsequently, the service was maintained under other forms of management, such as the cooperative, until the creation of the state company that manages it to this day.
