Johann Sebastian Bach's first Leipzig cantatas, in 1723, are characterized above all by his interest in creating a solid repertoire of cantatas and at the same time in taking on new compositional challenges. Above all, one sees how Bach first tried to find different forms of vocal composition with biblical texts, in order then to explore the possibilities of chorale integration and chorale composition.
