PUBLIC PROMOTION OF EQUALITY

Law 15/2022 of 12 July, a comprehensive law on equal treatment and nondiscrimination, includes in a chapter specifically devoted to regulating a mandate for public authorities to promote the right to equal treatment and non-discrimination. In a law that seems to be comprehensive, there can be no lack of the proactive component that, according to art. 9.2 EC, the State Strategy for Equal Treatment and Non-Discrimination is of great importance in this area, as a central instrument for the planning of policies for this purpose, in connection with its planification at Community level. Today, articulated for the period 2020-2025. It is analyzed, in this sense, from the international context that predetermines the content of the Law, through its constitutional context, to define what are the tools that the legislator has designed in this norm, in which scenario they have been drawn and what are the perspectives from this new regulation.
