Cholestatic syndrome as a presentation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Report of a pediatric case

Cholestatic jaundice is due to impaired secretion of conjugated bilirubin; One of the possible causes is alteration of bile flow due to obstruction of the extrahepatic bile duct. Lymphoma is the third most common neoplasm in pediatrics, while pancreatic tumors are rare and mostly benign lesions. The clinical manifestations of retroperitoneal tumors are not very specific and tend to be late, so clinical suspicion must be high. The objective of the following work is to present the case of a 7-year-old boy with cholestatic syndrome in whom a tumor was found in the head of the pancreas that compressed the extrahepatic bile duct. The tumor diagnosis was Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). The infrequency of this tumor in this location in pediatric age stands out.
