摘要
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is recognized as one of the most complex joints in humans, playing a crucial role in dental occlusion and the neuromuscular system. Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are common musculoskeletal conditions in the population that cause pain and disability. For this reason, the aim is to analyze the perception of these disorders and their cranio-cervico-maxillo-facial rehabilitation in postgraduate students. The literature review was carried out through exhaustive searches in digital databases such as Pubmed, Google Scholar, Scopus, Lilacs, Cochrane library, Web of Science, Epistemonikos, Sage, Ovid, Taylor & Francis. The selected articles, published between 2013 and 2023 and without language restriction, were evaluated using the PRISMA checklist, resulting in 19 articles suitable for the development of this review. The literary findings point out that the topic of temporomandibular disorders has been the subject of controversy, especially regarding pain and the reassessment of its natural history within the group of musculoskeletal disorders. This has prompted a revolution in the diagnostic and therapeutic approach, highlighting the need for more experts in this area, as perceived by graduate students
