A lithium-scandium sulfate with second-harmonic generation response and deep-ultraviolet transparency

摘要
A new beryllium-free deep-UV transparent NLO crystal Li(H2O)2Sc(SO4)2 features a two-dimensional [Sc(SO4)2] framework consisting of twisted [Sc3S4O9] units decorated by [LiO2(H2O)2] groups into a unique layer. Remarkably, Li(H2O)2Sc(SO4)2 exhibits a phase-matching SHG response of 0.7 x KDP and a deep-UV cutoff edge below 190 nm. A new beryllium-free deep-UV transparent NLO crystal Li(H2O)2Sc(SO4)2 consists of distorted [LiO4], [SO4] tetrahedra and [ScO6] octahedra and exhibits a phase-matching SHG response of 0.7 x KDP and a deep-UV cutoff edge below 190 nm.
