摘要
Assessment of the Competencies of Coaches. Development and Analysis of the Reliability and Validity of a QuestionnaireAbstract: Strauch, Wasche, and Jekauc (2018; 2019) developed a competence model that postulates the three action competencies of motivational, adaptive, and organizational competence of exercise instructors as influencing participants' positive affective responses in exercise programs. The aim of the present study was to develop a measurement instrument to assess these action competencies and to investigate its reliability, construct validity, and criterion-related validity. To this end, Study 1 was conducted with 1,015 participants (48.9 % female) with a mean age of 29.8 (SD = 13.5) years, and Study 2 with 240 participants (48.0 % female) with a mean age of 25.4 (SD = 9.3) years. Overall, the questionnaire showed sufficient reliability and construct validity. Criterion-related validity was demonstrated by the significant correlations with PACES. The results of Study 1 indicated a halo effect in which the judgment of the exercise class participants depended on their liking for the exercise instructor. This finding was also shown in Study 2.
