摘要
This paper stems from research and practices carried out in the Campinas municipal education system's continuing education for teachers. Drawing on the scholarship on the limits and possibilities of popular science, we argue for the adoption of the scientific literacy methodology by the Human Sciences as a strategy to strengthen democracy and fight against misinformation and scientific denialism. This paper aims to point out this didactic approach's potential regarding History teaching while reflecting on History's role in the present time, as well as basic education teachers as knowledge producers, disseminators, and mediators.
