The paper explores the suitability of the United Nations Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) as an early warning tool for the prevention of child recruitment, including discussion of predictive elements for child recruitment as a prevention tool . The article discusses the functioning of the MRM and surveys predictive factors for child recruitment. The article concludes with recommendations for future strengthening of the global child protection architecture for the prevention of child recruitment.
