摘要
TC17 and TA15 titanium alloys were joined using linear friction welding (LFW) method. After welding, post-weld treatment of welds was carried out at 600 and 650 degrees C for 3 h followed by vacuum furnace cooling. The microstructure, mechanical and corrosion property of TC17/TA15 welded joint were investigated. Results indicate that the fraction of a phase in welding zone (WZ) gradually increased with increasing heat treatment temperature. The grain refinement occurs after heat treatment due to increasing recrystallization extent. The mechanical and corrosion properties of welded joints are remarkably improved after heat treatment. The fraction location of welds changes from WZ to TA15 base metal. After heat treatment at 650 degrees C, the corrosion rate of welds decreases from 1.33 x 10(-7) to 7.4 x 10(-8) g/mm(2)center dot h. The results could provide a guidance for simultaneously improving mechanical and corrosion property of dissimilar LFWed titanium alloy joint.
