摘要
Digital network communication platforms revolutionized the way we communicate, inform and entertain ourselves; They mainly impacted the new generations. The pandemic increased consumption patterns at all ages and its consequences: sedentary lifestyle; obesity; sleep, psychological, cognitive, memory/attention, academic performance disturbances; problematic behaviors and risks of cyberbullying. The activity of new generations on TikTok - a platform where they can create, view, share viral videos and challenges - has an impact on their behavior. Your posts generate approvals, comments and followers; This stimulates the dopaminergic reward circuit, which is the basis of addictive behaviors. The pediatrician must be aware of these behaviors to recommend good use practices. This narrative review, based on bibliography from PubMed Central, SciELO, national and international recommendations, aims to inform and update professionals about the platform, its characteristics and its recommendations for safe use.
