摘要
Objective: To identify nursing interventions aimed at pre-venting frailty in older adults.Methodology: A literature review of nursing interventions to prevent age-related frailty was conducted using a search of articles in the PubMed, Cochrane Plus, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases, as well as the scientific content electronic library Scielo, using the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR".Results: The selected articles were divided into three categories of analysis, two of which were not specific to nursing due to the scarcity of published works by this pro-fessional group: Recommendations for protein intake in older adults, Prevention of frailty associated with nutritional deterioration with nutritional supplements and physical ac-tivity, and Nursing interventions aimed at preventing frailty in older adults.Discussion: Evidence shows that minimum levels of pro-tein intake are essential for maintaining and/or recovering muscle mass and function, constituting an important preven -tive topic for healthy aging. The promising role of community nurses in preventing frailty and sarcopenia is noteworthy, al-though greater knowledge of nurses in this aspect of care is necessary. Conclusions: Health professionals need to be aware of the effects of frailty on the quality of life of older adults and develop rehabilitation programs, both physical and nutritional.
