摘要
Manufacturing companies are increasingly interested in customer-involved product configurators due to their capacity to better meet customers' needs. The capacity of eXtended Reality (XR) product configurators to enhance user experience makes them highly useful for realizing the concept of humancentric design for mass customization. We present a case study of an XR Configuration System (XRCS) compatible with a flexible production system. The aim of this work was the development of an interactive and user-friendly XRCS. The XRCS allows product configurability and customization while considering production and sustainability information. Moreover, it allows to send the final configuration to the production system in real-time. For this purpose, the XRCS has been integrated into the full-scale production demonstrator located at Fraunhofer Italia's Area for Research and iNnovative Applications (ARENA).
