摘要
Numerical and analytical methods are applied to deter-mine the remaining life of oil rig pipe with an axial crack. Analytical expressions for surface cracks are used to calcu-late stress intensity factors for different crack geometries and estimate the remaining life directly by using Paris law. The same procedure is applied by using the FEM, verified previously by experimental results. Good agreement between analytical and numerical results is demonstrated.
