Dextrocardia with situs inversus: a special case

The article describes the case of a 7-year-old, unigenetic girl with a father who was the only carrier of aortic bicuspid-ia in her family, who, on medical examination for noncompetitive sports fitness, presented, on cardiac auscultation, with absence of cardiac tones on the cardiac area, with evidence of the same on the right hemithorax. Performance of the resting ECG detected P-wave and QRS inversion in D1 and aVL with abnormal R-wave progression in the precordial leads to suspicion of dextrocardia, which was diagnostically confirmed by performing a color Doppler echocardiography examination and chest X-ray. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the case history of electrocar-diographic abnormalities and congenital heart disease during medical examination for noncompetitive sports fitness, focusing on the concomitance with the parent's aortic pathology too.
