Acerca da ciência política e a melhor constituição em Política IV, 1-2 On Political Science and the Best Constitution in Politics IV, 1-2

The present article explores the question of the best political regime in the chapters 1 and 2 of Aristotle's Fourth Book of the Politics. In relation to this textual segment, it is argued that it displays a conception of political science that offers different approximations to that evaluative question, and that these perspectives boost an expanded understanding of Aristotelian typology of constitutions. According to this interpretation, it is plausible to see the structure and internal division of Aristotle's political treatise though the prism of an explicative intention that, empirically sustained, opens up to a morphological analysis of the various constitutional forms without disregarding, at the same time, an equally flexible normative orientation.
