摘要
The risk of SRC is real and should not be taken lightly. However, it should be emphasized that with appropriate treatment, this is an injury from which recovery is very likely. Further research regarding the long-term risks of participation in sport and repetitive head injury is needed. The benefits of sport participation should be measured against the risks, and every effort should be made to make sport accessible, equitable, and safe for all involved to maximize the psychosocial benefits of sport. To that end, media representation should emphasize an accurate representation of the current consensus of SRC. In doing so, we can hope to equip athletes, parents, and coaches with the appropriate information with which to make important decisions about participating in sport.
