USE OF GAMIFICATION STRATEGIES AS A TOOL TO IMPROVE ACADEMIC MOTIVATION IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN METROPOLITAN LIMA

摘要
The general objective was to determine the influence of the use of gamification strategies on the academic motivation of university students in Metropolitan Lima. The specific objectives were: to identify the influence exerted by the use of gamification strategies on intrinsic motivation; specify the influence that the use of gamification strategies has on extrinsic motivation and define the influence of the use of gamification strategies on demotivation. The study was of an applied type, quantitative approach, quasi-experimental design and explanatory level. The population was 230 students of the 8th cycle of industrial engineering from a public university in Metropolitan Lima. The sample consisted of 56 students from the Operations Planning and Control course, divided into two groups, 28 in the control group and 28 in the experimental group. The questionnaire had 27 questions related to academic motivation, with five response alternatives, and its reliability was also validated and verified. A program of content and didactic resources based on gamification was developed to carry out the experiment (pre-test and post-test), with the help of the Quizizz and Google Meet applications. It is concluded that p=0.032<0.05, therefore, the use of gamification strategies significantly influence the academic motivation of university students in Metropolitan Lima.
