ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION OF THE RESULT IN MEN<acute accent>S AND WOMEN<acute accent>S PROFESSIONAL PADEL

The objectives were to analyze the results of each set in World Padel Tour (WPT) matches played in three sets, according to the incorporation or not of the golden point and to evaluate if the difference of games in the first or second set and the introduction or not of the point rule are predictor variables of winning the third set of a match. To do this, 1018 matches played in three sets were analyzed. Through descriptive and inferential analyses, both in men<acute accent>s and women<acute accent>s padel, the results indicate that with a golden point (RTC=3.2) the score of the first set is usually equal, while with a golden point (RTC=3. 3) or without it (RTC=2.2), the score of the third set is usually not equal. On the other hand, through a linear binomial logistic regression model, in both men<acute accent>s and women<acute accent>s padel, the greater the difference in games in the second set, the greater the probability that the pair that has won said set will win the third set. Although this probability decreases when the matches were played with a golden point.
