WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION IN POLITICS: FRANCIA MÁRQUEZ'S TRAJECTORY

This article aims to address the role of women in politics by focusing on Francia Marquez's victory. Initially, the history of women's participation in this field is introduced, highlighting the persistent violence against this gender. Subsequently, emphasis is placed on the female vote, as it is a topic of paramount importance to highlight the theme "Politics" and "Women" on the same agenda. Given that the 20th century was marked by important guidelines that resulted in freedom and the use of the term for women in everyday life, the choice of theme was made possible by the scenario of struggles and achievements of Francia Marquez, who recently had the honor of serving as vice president of Colombia, becoming the first woman to hold the office in the country.
