摘要
PurposeCylindrical shells are often subjected to external harmonic excitation during their lifetime, making vibration isolation crucial. In this paper, a novel locally resonant metamaterial sandwich cylindrical curved panel structure consisting of the resonator core and two cylindrical curved panel face layers is presented, where a cantilever L-beam mass system (LBMS) acts as a resonator.MethodsTwo face sheets and the cantilever LBMS are connected by bolts and nuts. The mass of the support rod is averaged into the two curved panels. The advantage of the present metamaterial is that the LBMS has excellent designability and lower frequency, compared to the straight cantilever beam mass system. By employing Hamilton's principle and the thin-shell theory, the dynamic equations governing the vibration of the metamaterial sandwich cylindrically curved panel are derived. Then, with the aid of the plane wave expansion method (PWE), the band gap structure and dispersion relation are computed numerically. The comparison studies are conducted to validate the present formulation by the dispersion curves which are obtained from present results and those achieved by the literature.ResultsThe impact of various parameters of the resonator and cylindrically curved panels, such as curved panel geometry, material properties and system damping on the band gap structures are studied in depth. The acceleration responses of the new finite metamaterials sandwich cylindrical panel are researched utilizing the finite element method (FEM). The findings show that it is more suitable for low-frequency vibration isolation.
