摘要
The document presents the optimal allocation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for radial distribution networks to reduce losses in the grid. The optimization process is performed using the genetic algorithm combined with the iterative forward-backward sweep-based power flow considering long-duration voltage variations as constraints. The proposed approach is performed using Matlab/Matpower to obtain the optimal allocation and sizing of BESS in the distribution network. The IEEE 25-bus system as a test model has been selected to carry out the analysis; the connection of BESS units, which captures the energy from renewable resources shows outstanding performance improving power quality.
