Moder n Approaches to Alternative Flap-Based Breast Reconstruction Profunda Artery Perforator Flap

PAP flaps have emerged as a leading alternative for autologous breast reconstruction when abdominal-based tissue is contraindicated or un-desired. Several studies have cited excellent sur-gical and patient-reported outcomes with low, predictable recipient and donor site morbidity. The aforementioned modifications of the original PAP flap (eg, vPAP, dPAP, and fleur-de-lis PAP) in-crease the potential reconstructive capacity of this donor tissue. As techniques are refined and sur-geon experience improves, we expect the clinical application and utilization of PAP flaps to expand accordingly.
