摘要
The teacher-student relationship influences and contributes to better use of the subject and course and promotes better learning. Furthermore, higher education in Brazil began during the empire period with the Portuguese court. A good teacher-student relationship can promote good adaptation in higher education, assimilation of content and the construction of a critical vision. The choice of this topic is justified due to the importance of the teacher-student relationship, and because it enables better learning and resourcefulness. The general objective is to investigate the importance of the teacher-student relationship in the educational context of higher education. And its specific objectives are: to analyze the teaching-learning process in the school environment; identify the main factors that influence the teacher -student relationship; evaluate students' perception regarding the teacher-student relationship; and propose strategies and practices that can improve the teacher-student relationship and, consequently, student learning. To this end, a bibliographical review of books and scientific articles on the teacher-student relationship in higher education was carried out, using the main academic databases as a research basis. It was concluded that the teacher-student relationship promotes motivation and provides more effective learning, due to the teacher's responsibility to go beyond teaching closed content, therefore, stimulating a critical vision and active assimilation of content in the student. Therefore, in higher education the teacher also plays a fundamental role in student performance and learning, through good teaching and develops learning more effectively.
