摘要
Welcoming process refers to different actions and procedures aimed at providing the new worker with the necessary information and support to facilitate access to an institution. In higher education, and specifically in university teaching, welcoming has not been a topic of interest and experiences in this regard are scarce. The current paper describes the process of needs analysis of new teaching staff in a university institution based on a group discussion and the subsequent collection of information throughout a questionnaire. The data highlight the importance of a proper welcome, accompanied by the supply of essential information, as well as the implementation of mentoring programmes to contribute to the personal well-being of university teaching staff.
