摘要
The rapid developments of the Internet of Things (IoT) require advanced communications systems to support several applications. Screen-to-Camera Communication systems (S2C) have recently emerged as an alternative potential for short-to-medium-range communications systems in a variety of IoT applications. Researchers have extensively utilized Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (O-OFDM) in S2C to get better performance. The main challenges that degrade the performance of O-OFDM S2C systems are the high Bit Error Rate (BER), narrow viewing angle, and short transmission distance. The experimental results of the proposed enhancement system show that the optimum CF is 0.8 at BER approximately 10-7 for an SNR of 20 dB at a 5 m transmission distance with a 60 degrees viewing angle of 276 Kb/s data rate. These results indicate that there is a reasonable BER improvement in the proposed S2C system performance compared with the conventional S2C system. Finally, the performance enhancement is achieved by the combination of the clipping and Forward Error Correction (FEC) techniques, which demonstrates their effectiveness in improving the S2C/OCC system performance.
