From the Mobile Temple to the Spiritual Temple. A tour of the place of worship of Yhwh in the Biblical tradition

The place where Yhwh must be worshiped is always a space for discussion within Israel. In fact, narratives in the Pentateuch speak of a place to be chosen by Yhwh to dwell, but do not state which one. In addition, various places of worship emerged throughout Israel, such as sacred spaces, altars, temples and/or shrines. Throughout the history of Israel, a whole theology was elaborated around the Temple of Jerusalem, but there was always a doubt in the air about the issue of legitimacy and sacredness. Here we want to highlight these places of worship described in Old and New Testament narratives, the development of the ideal of a Spiritual or Celestial Temple.
