Virtual environments and collaborative learning: New trends

This article determines the relationship between the use of virtual environments and collaborative learning in the students of a postgraduate School. In order to achieve this goal, a quantitative, descriptive-correlational and non-experimental design method was selected. 123 postgraduate students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the National University of Callao (Peru) were surveyed. The results showed that when virtual environments are implemented in the educational environment, students' learning is more efficient, since it provides them with a series of skills and competencies to face the world and to develop as successful professionals; Spearman's correlation showed a value of 0.728 and sig. 0.00. It was evident that educational institutions should incorporate policies to promote collaborative learning with virtual tools, as this will allow students to improve their learning and socioemotional skills.
