In the context of a contemporary society shaped by technological advances, university education in journalism faces the challenge of preparing students for a future characterized by connectivity, knowledge, dynamism, and complexity. Hyperconnectivity and the expansion of the sensorial environment have allowed for greater interaction with the physical reality through technologies such as augmented and virtual reality; however, a growing individualism is observed, posing ethical dilemmas and challenging social cohesion. In response to these accelerated changes, this paper presents a formative proposal called STEPS, which emerges as a holistic solution for journalism education, equipping students with digital competencies, adaptability skills, critical thinking, and a solid ethical foundation. Additionally, we describe the development of a pilot project titled "Detras de la Cancion", which exemplifies how social interaction and the use of technology enrich the education of future journalists, contributing to building an informed and sustainable future in an increasingly complex and dynamic society.
